How to get brand deals as a fitness creator

Updated 2026

Make it easy for a brand to understand who you reach, what you can create, and why its product belongs in that content. A short proposal with credible evidence gives them more to act on than a vague request to become an ambassador.

Start with the type of work you want: sponsored distribution on your account, content production for the brand, or a performance-based partnership. Each needs different proof and pricing.

1. Choose a concrete audience and offer

"Fitness creator" is broad. "Strength training for busy professionals" gives a brand a clearer customer and content setting. Other useful descriptions might be beginner home workouts, powerlifting technique, or local studio reviews.

Define the deliverable you can produce: an instructional integration, an honest product demonstration, a routine video, or UGC for the brand's channels. Offer guaranteed sales only when you have evidence and terms that support the promise.

Workout Lock is one possible partner for content about distraction and time-efficient gym sessions. Other audience problems call for different brands.

2. Show metrics that match the work

For sponsored distribution, include typical reach on comparable posts, audience geography, relevant demographics, and actual link or purchase data where available. Use a median or explain outliers. Your biggest viral video is a poor stand-in for normal performance.

Engagement matters, but report the denominator. Interactions divided by reach and interactions divided by followers are different measures. Comments asking about the product or process can be useful context. They are not proof of purchase.

For UGC, emphasize the assets: examples, clear audio, useful demonstrations, editing, and how you explain a product. You are selling production skill, so a large following may not be central.

3. Build a one- or two-page media kit

Include your audience description, channels, contact details, recent comparable performance, audience location, three strong examples, services, and any genuine past campaign results. State the period your analytics cover.

If you have no paid campaigns, label sample concepts as samples. Do not present an unpaid review as a sponsored case study or invent conversion data. A concise portfolio link can accompany the kit.

List package scope or starting production prices only when you can define the included work. Rights and exclusivity need separate discussion.

4. Find brands with a clear reason to work together

Start with products you use or can credibly assess. Look at their official partner pages, existing creator content, product launches, and the audience they serve. Verify that the country, device, and price fit your followers.

Route Practical next step Limitation
Official partner application Follow published requirements Usually no guaranteed fee or approval
Direct brand outreach Pitch one relevant concept to a verified business contact Some brands do not accept unsolicited sponsorship requests
Aspire Browse and apply to suitable campaigns Individual campaign requirements differ
Shopify Collabs merchant route Use a brand invitation or application where available New creator account signups are currently paused
Scouted athlete relationships Build visible, relevant content No direct application at some brands

Sources [1][2][3]. Gymshark's official support page, for example, describes scouting, and it does not describe an open sponsorship application.[3] When a brand says it cannot process unsolicited requests, repeated messages to customer support will not change that.

Ambassador routes are covered in fitness ambassador applications. A performance test is covered in affiliate programs for fitness influencers.

5. Send a specific pitch

Adapt this example with real evidence. Do not send placeholders or claims you cannot support.

Subject: Gym video idea for [product]: [specific problem]

Hi [name],

I create [type of content] for [specific audience], primarily in [market]. My recent comparable videos typically reach [accurate metric and period].

I have an idea for [product]: [one-sentence concept showing the audience problem and demonstration]. Here is a relevant example of my work: [link].

Are you commissioning [sponsored integrations / UGC] for this campaign? I can send a scoped proposal covering deliverables and usage.

[Name and contact]

A pitch can ask whether there is a budget without sending a complete free campaign strategy. One polite follow-up after a reasonable interval is a useful default. Adjust to any stated application timeline, and avoid repeated unsolicited messages.

6. Price production, reach, and rights

Start with workload and expenses, then account for audience distribution, paid-ad usage, raw footage, revisions, exclusivity, and deadlines. Follower count alone is not a reliable beginner fee.

Offer a narrow paid test if the brand wants to start small. For example, one defined video with one revision and a limited agreed license is easier to assess than an open-ended ambassador commitment. The actual price and license must be negotiated.

If the brand wants custom creative, advertising use, or a fixed posting schedule, ask for a fee. An affiliate link can add performance compensation. It does not automatically pay for producing assets the brand uses.

7. Decide when affiliate-only makes sense

Consider it when the product fits, you already want to discuss it, incremental production effort is low, and the attribution terms are clear. It is a weak substitute for a paid campaign when the brand wants custom work you would not have made anyway.

Ask what earns commission, how refunds affect earnings, how referrals are attributed, and what the brand expects. Do not grant broad rights or exclusivity casually in exchange for uncertain purchases. See how to evaluate fitness brand deals.

Workout Lock Partner Program

Workout Lock is an iOS app designed to block distracting apps during workouts so users can finish on time. It may fit a creator showing how to keep gym sessions focused while still using a phone for music or logging.

Creators can apply to the Partner Program without waiting for an inbound sponsorship. Approved partners earn 50% of Workout Lock's net proceeds from the qualifying purchase, subject to terms. Net proceeds are what remains after Apple's commission, taxes withheld by Apple, and refunds or chargebacks. Commission applies to the first annual subscription bought through the Partner offer. Renewals do not earn commission. The customer enters the partner code in the app. The code is valid for 30 days, and a purchase in that window stays attributed. Payouts are monthly after a 30-day hold, with a €50 minimum. There is no fixed sponsorship fee, and approval is not guaranteed.

FAQs

How big does my account need to be?

It depends on the brand and deal. Some publish thresholds, some scout qualitatively, and UGC buyers may prioritize production. Check the actual opportunity. An arbitrary follower target is a poor reason to wait.

Should I accept free products for my first deal?

Only if the value to you justifies the obligations. Products are not cash. Avoid large briefs, broad rights, or exclusivity simply because the brand uses an impressive title.

What if brands do not reply?

Review audience fit, evidence, contact accuracy, and the specificity of your concept. Track qualified pitches and replies. Silence does not prove you need more followers. It may mean the offer is poorly timed or not commercially useful.
