Productivity app affiliate programs: compare the buying journey
Updated 2026
Productivity apps solve different problems. A task manager helps organize commitments. An app blocker helps reduce distractions. A workout-focused blocker addresses distraction in a specific setting.
Before comparing commission rates, ask whether your audience wants that particular outcome and whether its preferred purchase route qualifies for commission. Fitness app comparisons live on workout app affiliate programs.
Three programs to investigate
Accepted agreements can change or differ from summaries. This is a selective comparison of purchase mechanics, not a ranked “best of” list.
| Program | Audience fit | Advertised earning mechanics | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Workout Lock | iPhone users distracted during workouts | 50% of net proceeds from eligible first-year Annual purchases | New subscribers, Partner offer, code validation, purchase within 30 days. No renewal commission |
| Todoist | People organizing work and personal tasks | Up to 25%, tier-dependent; one reward for an annual upgrade, or up to 12 monthly payments | Eligible upgrades and web purchases through todoist.com. App Store and Google Play purchases do not qualify[1] |
| Freedom | Audiences seeking focus and distraction reduction | Public page advertises a 10% baseline and a 90-day cookie | The same page announces a new program coming soon. Confirm current enrollment and the contract before promotion[2] |
These percentages have different bases and earning periods. Workout Lock's 50% of net proceeds is not 50% of the customer price. Todoist's annual and monthly commission treatment differs. Freedom's public headline should not be treated as confirmation of your accepted agreement.
Where Workout Lock fits
Workout Lock is a narrower recommendation than a general task or focus app. It is relevant when your productivity content also addresses gym routines: training before work, exercising during a limited break, or keeping a workout from drifting into phone use.
A productivity creator whose audience mainly wants desktop task organization may have little reason to promote it. A “how I prepare for the gym before a busy day” demonstration creates a more direct fit. Test that overlap instead of forcing the app into every productivity tutorial.
Compare more than the percentage
Check the commission base, eligible plan, customer restrictions, attribution method, refund treatment, earning period, payout threshold, and supported purchase channel.
Mobile apps make the last point especially important. A creator may send someone to an app, but the program may pay only for a browser checkout. Alternatively, a code may need to be entered inside the app. Show the purchase journey your chosen program actually supports.
Workout Lock customers tap Referral code at the paywall, enter and apply a code, then see the discounted Annual offer. The link helps them find the app. The code determines commission. Eligible new subscribers receive about 20% off the first annual period, then renew at regular annual pricing. The operational steps are in how to promote Workout Lock.
Calculate the economic test
Use approved commission per qualifying purchase rather than the percentage alone.
Hypothetical example: one offer produces €12 per confirmed purchase and another €16. If the first produces ten purchases and the second three, the totals are €120 and €48. The higher per-purchase commission does not automatically make the better campaign. These figures illustrate a comparison method, not expected performance.
Also compare production time, support questions, refund adjustments, and whether viewers trust the recommendation. Do not count prospective renewals unless the accepted program actually pays them.
Workout Lock reporting and eligibility
The partner dashboard shows referred purchases, pending earnings, confirmed earnings, and payouts. Apple-verified qualifying transactions appear through the backend. Commissions remain pending for 30 days. Payouts are monthly with a €50 minimum, by PayPal or Wise. Refunds and reversals cancel or deduct commission.
Applicants need relevant distribution, must be 18 or older, and must operate where the app and payment methods are supported. There is no follower minimum. Approved partners receive free testing access and approved promotional resources. Commission applies to the first Annual purchase by a new subscriber. Weekly, Monthly, Lifetime Access, installs, and renewals do not earn commission.
Is Workout Lock a general work or study blocker?
This recommendation is about workout distraction. Do not advertise unconfirmed work or study features to broaden the audience.
Does a subscription app always pay recurring commission?
No. Customer renewal and partner renewal commission are separate terms. Workout Lock pays only for the qualifying first annual purchase.
Does your productivity audience also train with an iPhone? Apply to the Workout Lock Partner Program. Earn 50% of Workout Lock's net proceeds from qualifying purchases. Terms apply.
